mode transport planning are proud to have been involved with the Santander Universities SME Internship Programme for the last two years. The Santander programme helps students to prepare for their future career; going students and graduates opportunities to gain work experience within a small or medium enterprise through the SME internship programme.

James Kent has been working at mode’s Reading office, whilst Oliver Hughes joined our team in Camden during the summer, both share their thoughts and experience of this years programme:

James Kent:

Since undertaking this internship, my outlook towards mode and transport planning as a whole has only grown stronger.

From the offset, mode made me feel welcome and part of the team and within the first week I found myself contributing to meaningful work on reports.

The skills I have developed here in such a relatively short period of time surpass what I ever could have hoped to gain and will help me no end in my final year at university and career that follows

Oli Hughes:

From my initial interview with David it became clear to me that mode have huge ambitions and an impressive client base; my internship at mode was intended to last four weeks, but after joining I was eager to extend this to eight weeks.

Throughout my time at mode I have been trained in graphic design, traffic forecasting and junction analysis software and have been given the opportunity to contribute to transport reports for a range of projects, giving me a fantastic insight into the industry and helped develop new skills that no doubt will benefit me in my career and through the rest of my time in education.”
