Our Manchester office is on the edge of the City in Castlefield one of the Manchester's more relaxed neighbourhoods, a conservation area; yet home to the Castlefield Bowl; a canal-side outdoor venue that hosts rock and classical concerts!

Our Manchester office is based in an old Mill on the edge of the Manchester Ship canal; it a relaxed and friendly open plan environment in a modern office. The amenities in the building include a break out and chill out area complete complemented by urban art and a video arcade machine; the local area has good access to the Metro, high frequency bus routes, fashionable bars and restaurants.

transport planner (approx £28,000-£34,000)

We are looking for exceptional people at Transport Planner grade (someone with around 3 years experience) who want to get involved in delivering projects and be a key member of our growing team.

senior transport planner (approx £34,000-£38,000)

We are currently looking for a Senior Transport Planner (minimum 3 years of experience) with a passion for development related transport planning.

The successful candidate will join a busy team working on a wide range of projects in the North West and across the UK.  Our strong and diverse client base means that no one day is the same and staff advise on an extensive portfolio of projects which includes mixed-use regeneration, residential, employment, logistics, retail, leisure and education.

As a Senior Transport Planner you will manage projects and communicate directly with clients to provide advice on transport and highway matters.  You will also be involved in liaising and negotiating with local highway authority officers and other government bodies to achieve successful outcomes for our clients.

Some of the main responsibilities for this role are:

  • Advising clients on transport planning and highway matters associated with development projects.
  • Preparation of technical reports including Transport Assessments, Transport Statements, Travel Plans and EIA Chapters.
  • Junction modelling including Junctions 9 and LinSig.
  • Managing projects in accordance with our ISO:9002 accreditation.
  • Ideally membership of a relevant professional institution (CIHT, CILT, IHE, TPS, ICE).

design technician (approx £22,000-£28,000)

We are currently seeking a Design Technician with at least 2 years design experience, preferably in Highway Design or within a transport planning practice.

As a member of the technical team your main responsibilities would be the production of preliminary highway and junction design layouts using AutoCAD and the production of other design drawings such as car parks, bus stations, footways and cycle routes. The role also requires a good working knowledge to AutoTrack software.

In addition to these main responsibilities the production of report figures using various software packages including CORELDRAW and/or GIS would be advantageous. Some of the main responsibilities for this role are:

  • Preparation of technical drawings utilising AutoCAD.
  • Preliminary design of access and basic junction design (priority, roundabouts, signalisation).
  • Knowledge of relevant standards (DMRB / MfS / Local Transport Notes / Traffic Signs Manual).
  • Swept Path Analysis using AutoTrack.
