mode transport planning was appointed to provide travel planning advice to discharge a planning condition attached to a consented development for 29,409 sq ft of apartments divided into 614 units and 17,254 sq feet of commercial space in a former cinema located adjacent to Trafford Road in Salford, Manchester. At the time of the planning approval this was the largest PRS (Private Rented Sector) development outside of London.

Following a detailed consultation with Salford Council’s Sustainable Travel Team, mode produced a full Residential Travel Plan including site specific targets, measures and regular monitoring. The Travel Plan was submitted to and agreed in writing with Salford Council.

mode prepared the following key travel planning elements to discharge the planning condition:

  • Detailed scoping consultation with Salford Council’s Sustainable Travel Team;
  • Prepared and agreed Travel Plan targets, measures and monitoring process;
  • Identified the Travel Plan Coordinator and defined the role;
  • Prepared a Resident’s Travel Information Packs and Travel Questionnaire; and
  • Delivered a full Residential Travel Plan document.

The application was approved in 2017 and mode have subsequently assisted in discharging the Travel Plan Condition.
