mode transport planning were appointed by Merica Real Estate to transport inputs to a new mixed use regeneration scheme to provide commercial and residential uses with associated parking at 38 Birmingham Road, Sutton Coldfield.

The existing units will be demolished, and three four-storey buildings will be rebuilt on the site containing 1670m2 of retail space on the ground floor, which will be split into 12 units and 65 residential 1, 2 and 3 bed apartments on the first, second and third floors.

The Transport Assessment included a sound access strategy and assessment, whilst the Travel Plan aimed to reduce car movements from the site. mode provided the following inputs to the planning application:

  • Access strategy and assessment;
  • Parking allocation and planning within the site;
  • On street parking review;
  • Detailed Servicing;
  • Supporting Transport Assessment; and
  • Production of a Travel Plan.
