An application made by Horsham Football Club and Reside Developments for a new 1,300 capacity ground at the Hop Oast site was approved by Horsham District Council’s Planning Committee last night (Tuesday 21st February 2017).
The approval represents a new permanent home for the Club who have been ground sharing since 2008.
Approval was also granted to the enabling development of 58 residential dwellings on part of the Horsham FC’s owned Holbrook Club with access from Jackdaw Lane, which was also supported by its own seperate Transport Statement.
The Football Club Transport Assessment included a detailed access strategy and various match day and non-match day assessments and details of local walking and cycling improvements.
Horsham FC have committed to a Travel Plan that will underpin the future travel strategy for the site including establishing a local Travel Forum, monitoring pedestrian movements around the site and ongoing liaison with Metrobus to promote bus trips.
More details of both schemes can be found on the Home4HorshamFC website.
