mode transport planning attended ‘Delivering a world class Heartland’ recently at Hertfordshire University.

Some very interesting speakers covered various perspectives on sustainable transport, movement of freight and many other conflicting challenges faced in developing an overarching Transport Strategy to take the region through to 2050 and push towards a zero-carbon transport system; but is carbon neutrality by 2050 forward thinking enough for a area with a population of in excess of 5,000,000 people spread over 11 local transport authorities?

The Outline Transport Strategy: Framework for Engagement provides the framework for a conversation with people and businesses about the future of the region’s transport system.

This period of engagement, which will last until 31 October 2019, will play a crucial role in the development of our overarching Transport Strategy for the region, which will be formally consulted on in the first half of 2020.

mode transport planning will be sure to keep a close eye on how the responses develop, ensuring our advice and assistance to existing and future clients is in line with the exciting regional aims.
